Amanda Olivares is the Program Coordinator for Continuing Education at the UDC Community College. Joining forces with Director, Neil Richardson in providing the District with innovative ideas in standing up our new Continuing Education program, she is an advocate for lifelong learning and takes on the task of providing program management and support that will help people fulfill their lifelong learning goals.
With five years of experience in adult education in the Allied-Health Field, she took the opportunity to work within the mandate of the Welfare Reform Act of 1996, taking on the position as a Job Club Instructor and Participation Outreach Worker for the CALWORKs program of the San Joaquin County Human Service Agency in California.
In 2000, she re-entered the education field as a community college student and worked on courses that allowed her to transfer to the University of the Pacific. She focused on studies in the educational field and worked with students with special needs. In 2007, she moved from California to pursue the many opportunities in the education field in the DC metropolitan region.
